Project Overview

The University of Maryland Medical Center Shock Trauma Center is the nation’s only integrated Trauma Hospital and is dedicated to treating the severely injured using groundbreaking research and innovative medical procedures. The trauma center was constructed adjacent and connected to the existing Harry and Jeanette Weinberg facility integrating the two facilities with new operating rooms, pre-op/PACU areas, patient floors, training areas and offices.

Bell was selected to perform the mechanical and piping installation for the new $85M eight-story tower and Weinberg connector facility requiring extensive renovation work. Bell provided all mechanical piping, equipment, and HVAC ductwork along with, plumbing and medical gas systems.
