Project Overview

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is a nationally recognized facility located on 225 acres in New Hampshire’s Upper Connecticut River Valley. DHMC incorporates the activities of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic (a network of physicians throughout New Hampshire and Vermont), Dartmouth Medical School (the nation’s fourth oldest medical school), the VA Medical and Regional Office Center, is home to the state’s only children’s hospital (Children Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD)) and National Cancer Institute (Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC)).

Bell was responsible for renovating four existing buildings and adding five new buildings. The project scope includes the mechanical construction for:

  • A new 220,000 SF, five-story Ambulatory Care Facility
  • 310,000 SF renovation and expansion to the Diagnostic and Treatment Facility
  • A new Emergency Department, expanded OR’s and an MRI suite
  • A 100,000 SF laboratory expansion for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center
  • A 90,000 SF connector to house a food court / retail space
  • Expansion of the Central Plant
