The Bell Company successfully out ran (and out walked) the sun in a race against Melanoma. With our sponsorship and employee participation, they were able to raise about $24,000 for skin cancer education and research. The funds raised by our community stay in our community and will be donated to the University of Rochester Medical Center to be used as Seed Grants for Melanoma research.
Bell is always proud and honored to support worthy causes especially ones that benefit our friends, family, and community but our involvement in Outrun the Sun comes from an unfortunate beginning. The Bell family lost a great man, a boss, a friend, a husband, and a father when we lost Tom Bell to Melanoma. Since then, his family has been involved with the fight against Melanoma and have helped to establish the Rochester Melanoma Action Chapter which brings awareness and education about Melanoma as well as raises funds in the Rochester area for medical research in the battle against this growing cancer. The Melanoma Action Group is a licensee of the national organization Outrun the Sun, Inc.
At a time when many rural hospitals are closing, MUSC Health has just broken ground on this new facility that will serve the Lower Florence County and Williamsburg County areas of South Carolina. Bell Constructors is proud to serve as the Mechanical and Plumbing Design-Assist subcontractor to Rodgers/Thompson-Turner on this 65,000 SF hospital.
Bell is currently performing the Mechanical and Plumbing scopes of work for Contract Construction at the Lucy Garrett Beckham High School in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This project is a new construction, three-story, fully sprinkled, 242,500 square foot high school (1,500 student). Bell's team is led by Project Manager Rob Klink and Assistant Project Manager Carl Hitchcock.
