Project Overview

Bell was awarded the mechanical and plumbing design-assist scope of work for this two-story, 55-bed vertical expansion in an active healthcare facility. This project also includes renovations to the adjacent six-story medical office building (MOB).

A vertical expansion of two floors is planned above the existing second floor surgical department on the second floor. The new third and fourth floors will include 24 universal patient rooms per floor. The third floor is planned for critical care (ICU beds) and the fourth floor is planned for a med-surg nursing unit. New rooftop penthouses will include the mechanical equipment to support the new floors.

MOB renovations include an expanded gift shop, a new retail pharmacy, a new MRI suite, women’s imaging, and a preadmission testing suite with associated support spaces. The inpatient pharmacy will be relocated to the third floor of the MOB. The fourth floor MOB will be renovated for a new 24 bed Mother-Infant Unit with a well-baby holding nursery.

Central Plant upgrades consist of new 600-ton Chiller and Cooling Tower, as well as replacement and increased capacity of the medical grade oxygen.
