Project Overview

Johnston Memorial Hospital (JMH) is a new $135 million facility that replaced an existing 100 year old facility, in Southwest Virginia The new facility is located on a 60-acred campus and features 116 all private patient rooms, and fully operated emergency department.

Bell provided Design Assist services, and performed   the mechanical and plumbing systems for the development and construction of this new 350,000 square foot facility. Bell completed the installation of all mechanical piping, equipment, and HVAC ductwork, along with all plumbing and, medical gas systems.

Bell assisted on the facility’s LEED program developing energy-saving aspects for the new hospital that included high-efficiency plumbing and water conservation fixtures and energy-efficient boilers and chillers. The JMH facility received LEED GOLD certification.
