Project Overview

Bell was selected as the Utility Package Contractor when MedImmune, a Maryland-based biologics company constructed a new phase of its biologics manufacturing facility in Frederick, MD. Bell was responsible for over 200,000 linear feet of piping for this new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, including systems for chilled water (up to 36”), hot water, cooling tower water, lab water, instrument air, compressed glycol chilled water, steam and condensate, and bio-waste systems for this state-of-the-art facility.

Bell had further responsibility in setting all owner-furnished equipment, which included:

  • Process skids
  • Lab equipment
  • 900 HP Boilers
  • 2000 Ton Chillers
  • 800 Ton Chillers
  • 1000 Ton Cooling Tower Cells
  • Heat Exchanges
  • Pumps
  • 100 and 7,000 gallon stainless steel Process Tanks
